I am really super excited because I came in 2nd place!
Here's some notes about my creation I posted to the French thread (in English because I am too excited about doing so well in the contest to try to compose in French
)
All elements in my entry are from Gothicat World graphics plus the original background of the contest. I wasn't sure if external elements were allowed, though they said simple self-created ones would be fine, and I certainly didn't want to use anything that belonged to somewhere other than here... anyway Gothicat World provided very well as I found the Tree (I did this before Advent gave ME trees and ornaments, otherwise I would have used those... )
Notes on my entry (made in GIMP):
1) I put one plushie of each of the five monthly species - two are standing in front, three are serving as ornaments on the tree.
2) Because Lutin could not be dressed in the Abie & Mooa costume shop, I used the scarf from lunaris 3 ... I made an error on the tail of the scarf as it would have been on the ground and should have slanted it! I'll get that right if I do it again!
3) I used gothicat logos from the belt available in A&M that can be put on the snotts as they were the largest; the one for the rug was matched in perspective to the floor so it rested nicely.
4) The curtain, wreaths, and bows are also from costume parts I found in A&M, I don't remember exactly which creatures.
5) The exterior is made from one of the backgrounds in Creatura shop. It was because of that background that I changed the floor color - I thought the gray floor made a better overall color palette with the blue in the background.
Like many people I used fairies to decorate the tree... it's great how helpful those little decorative items like to be, isn't it! It was exciting to see how many shared ideas there were and also the unique ideas each person brought to the theme.
